For me retreats are sometimes uncomfortable for me as a single woman traveling alone, however this was most definitely not the case with Tandava.
I just returned from my first visit (yes there will be future visits), and the experience was nothing short of fulfilling all my desires and expectations. The entire experience was curated to meet both my physical and mental needs.
The experience starts from the moment you place an inquiry. I had a call with the Founder Joel, in which we spent an hour going over what I hoped to get through the retreat and what they offer, and to determine if they were a good fit for me, they were.
Tandava’s goal is to help you explore areas that eluded you, or you were possibly “stuck at”, they help you move forward in whatever capacity that means to you.
My retreat group consisted of 6 participants, equally divided by gender, and all came as individuals knowing no one else. It kind of felt a little like summer camp where each person arrives separately and you keep re-introducing until the final person arrives.
The campus looks and feels like what I would think Shangrila (sp) would look like. The pictures on the website actually do not do it justice in my opinion. We started out as six strangers and left as friends/family, this was not my goal, nor the reason I participated, it just naturally occurred, and was an extra bonus for me.
Hands down, this is a bespoke experience, which I think can be extraordinarily difficult to execute in a group setting, but they did it, and they did it really, really well. Each participant was very different, from jobs, family, culture, their reason for attending, yet each participant received exactly what they needed and desired. I never felt the way that they made me feel. I was cared for both spiritually and physically. Yoga, breath work, meditation, a sweat lodge, saunas, pool, massages, and the food, oh my Goethe food was delicious; all of this in addition to the power of 5. I arrived with a heaviness and questions, and I left with clarity, optimism, and answers.
This is not a quick fix, but instead an amazing powerful tool and process for those who struggle and desire answers and a plan to work.
Extraordinarily people, extraordinary environment, extraordinary care.
It is a life and game changer. Always now connected to Tandava.
